last month as an only child

As the due date of our sweet little guy rapidly approaches I have been left with trying to make Elliot's big brother feel really special. This last month will be the last month that Linc will ever be an only child, and boy has he lived it up. We have played LOTS of legos (i'm sure this will not stop, and that we have many more glorious years of LOTS of legos). We have watched Avengers for a straight month, and he has been hook (hulk) smash for the last 30 days as well. On the rare occasion  when he is not the hulk, captain america with a shield takes the stage. (the shield was hand made by me with an old trash can lid and some old paint). He is also in this bad guy kick, Darth Mater (Vader) is currently his favorite dark lord. I'm kinda hoping he grows out of this one.  Helping me with dinner has become a priority.  A real Iron chef in the making. In the past couple of days he has mastered the art of karate, and has become the avid chocolate waffle eater. On the mornings that Jarrod or I have not been ready to wake up at 6:30 am, linc has been able to get his kindle (pooter) and bring up netflix all on his own. A few mornings we have been serenaded with the intro song to the power rangers. One of our fondest memories is laying there as a family (trying to sleep) and hearing his sweet little boy voice singing the theme song " go go power rangers".  It really is the cutest thing ever.

Here are a few pictures of this last month's adventures. I hope we made some lasting memories for Lincoln. I know I will always remember them.

Special mommy and Linc date. He thinks starbucks only sells cookies and cakes.

Helping me make dumplings.

Always helping with the groceries.

I can't believe how small he was. Here he was helping me go through all his new born stuff while getting Elliot's room ready. This is one of his premie outfits.

Professional crib tester.

Spiderman

I pruned a bush in the front yard and he had to replant the clippings. They are still there today.

Here is the shield.

Got a fresh new hair cut. He asked the lady to cut it crazy. She was sweet and just spiked for him. He was trilled.

Crafting for his baby brothers room.

Just having a blast

Elliot,
You will forever change our lives, and we cannot wait!!! God has put you in our hands for a reason and we plan on cherishing you endlessly. We are going to have so much fun. I promise not to embarrass you too much.
Love,
Your crazy family.

pumpkin patch 2015

Fall is my favorite time of the year. The weather is starting to level off (sorta), leaves are changing, sweaters (my favorite) , and of course PUMPKINS. I love them. You can eat them, paint them, grow them (well some people can grow them, as for the green thumbless i will stick to just buying them.), and of course you can hammer things into them (this is linc's favorite).  Along with loving most fall related things I love a good fall festival.  They are just good ole fashion fun. On this beautiful day we had our best of friends with us. Which made the day perfect.. Hope you enjoy the pictures of this wonderful outing.

Sweet victoria (Lincoln's best friend)

Surprise surprise... Linc was completely uninterested in taking pictures.

Showing off their muscles.

"families are like fudge..... mostly sweet with a few nuts."

I got the chance this last weekend to do a photo shoot with of some of my favorite people. The love that flows through this sweet little family is totally contagious. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future of this wonderful family.

Ed and Laura,
thank you for letting me but a small part of your sweet little family story, if only for a little moment in time.

Lincoln age 3

This past weekend, our little boy turned 3. I can't quite believe it. He is the sweetest little soul ever, even if he says "shit" every once in a while. He loves to play games, and he actually wants us to play them with him. How can you resist when that little boy voice asks you to play with him (it comes out "play wiz meeee"). I try to say yes as much as possible. I want him to remember his parents playing with him and genuinely liking his company.  He likes tv, and I'm happy to say they are still the little kid cartoons. All the others, in his words are scary.  Tools Tools Tools..... we have tools everywhere and right now that's what his life if all about. Oh and I can't forget about golf with daddy. He asks about it all day and mommy just can't help him with any of it. So it is all up to his dear sweet daddy, and he really does a great job. They are actually outside right now as i'm writing this, playing golf.

I am so proud to be this boys mother. I can't imagine my life without him, even with his weird corkiness about his socks. (long story for another post) I pray for him every minute of everyday that he becomes a kind, accountable, loving man someday. At this rate he is well on his way to achieving that goal, but right now he is still a kid and he is loving it.

I am so thankful to all who came out on this very hot august day.
We sweat, played, and had a lot of fun. I can't think of a more better day to celebrate. Linc had a blast seeing all his friends. He even got a super spiderman jump house, in which he played from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm. Let's just say he slept well that night. We all did....

Love this group.

Linc and his uncle steve playing in the jump house. You know after this Uncle Steve is totally his favorite.

Yes this is my child peeing in the back yard. Luckily the party was almost over and not many people were in the back there at the time. I guess we need to have a discussion on when and where we pee..

 Happy Birthday!!!
