Welcome/ Retirement party

Month 4 was a busy one. First off, Elliot learned to roll over, get stuck in crazy places, and trying his best  to perfect the art of sitting up (he finally gets the hang of it in month 5). He is doing things so early. Well with all the help and advise from his wonderful big bro how can he not. His smile is getting easier to come by and is totally infectious. It's not so hard to make him show his gums. I love that gummy grin! He is kinda a hard laugh like Linc was, but every once in a while he lets it all out. It's music!! Lincoln is usually the one to get him really going. I am just so in love with my two boys, and the love that they feel for each other is undeniable.

This month we had a small welcome party with Jarrod's sides of the family. It was also a cover for a surprise retirement party for my wonderful in-laws. Both retired last year and refused a party. So you know what happened... They got one anyway. That's what daughter-in-laws are for.. right!! The day was amazing, family came from all over, conversations were had and memories were made. A day I will likely not forget.

As we drove up to the party this sign was hanging on the gate. It made my heart skipped a beat.

Yes, I made everyone stand in the hot sun to get a group picture. The first one I took caught me running trying to join the group (i'm a little slow). I love a good group picture!!

The young schooling the old. Lincoln was an amazing teacher. It must run in the family.

We got the chance to visit my mother-in-laws work for her retirement party the school threw for her. It was fantastic hearing the stories that were told. I mean we know how special she is, but it's always nice to hear it for her peers. I loved seeing the joy she brought to the school, I know she will be missed. I'm sure she will miss them just as much.

I can't believe how fast everything is going. I'm having trouble keeping up. These boys are keeping me on my toes and i'm loving every minute of it!!

Everything goes in his mouth...

Oh this happy face!! I just love it so much. I'm so proud he is mine.

month 1-3

Sorry I have been a little behind. This little one wants to be touched at all times, so it is a little hard to get away and do a little typing. The months are flying by, as I am writing this, elliot is actually 5 months old. I was tempted not to post anything, well because taking pictures of a newborn is really hard and as a photographer I seem to have missed the boat on this part of the industry completely. I post because I want to remember.

I want to remember that he nursed constantly and as you can see on the giraffe picture below, he even tried on the stuffed animal. He has even refused to take a bottle, no mater how hard we pushed it.  I want to remember that he cried anytime I got the camera out and then laughed when he saw me all stressed out. I want to remember the love that lincoln feels for his baby brother and wants to be around him all the time. He sweetly sings "twinkle twinkle little star" any time elliot is upset. I will miss that little boy voice someday. I want to remember even if it has been a pain that I only had the touch that can calm him down, and that he loves my out of tune voice singing right up next to his ear. Most of all I want to remember how complete we all feel with him in our little world.

1 month

He tooted on Blayne

I am so in love with this picture!! Just like big brother Elliot loves to be outside.

month 2
As you can see we did not get many pictures for month 2. He was being extremely difficult.

Elliot,
I am so proud that I get to be your mother.  I promise to always embarrass you, laugh with you, cry with you, and pray with you, but most of all I will love you until the end of time. I thank God everyday that he placed you with us and you get to be mine.
love, mama

"You know there's a difference between like and love. I like my sketchers but I love my Prada Backpack."
-10 things i hate about you.

Steph, congrats on finding your prada backpack!!

I had such a great time taking these beautiful pictures of my very beautiful friend. I've known Stephnie for almost 20 years. We were immediate friends and have stayed that way even with a small break :). Now that she is back in my life I have zero plans on letting her go. I am so excited for her to start this wonderful adventure. Life is never the same when you meet the one that you get to spend the rest of your life with.

last month as an only child

As the due date of our sweet little guy rapidly approaches I have been left with trying to make Elliot's big brother feel really special. This last month will be the last month that Linc will ever be an only child, and boy has he lived it up. We have played LOTS of legos (i'm sure this will not stop, and that we have many more glorious years of LOTS of legos). We have watched Avengers for a straight month, and he has been hook (hulk) smash for the last 30 days as well. On the rare occasion  when he is not the hulk, captain america with a shield takes the stage. (the shield was hand made by me with an old trash can lid and some old paint). He is also in this bad guy kick, Darth Mater (Vader) is currently his favorite dark lord. I'm kinda hoping he grows out of this one.  Helping me with dinner has become a priority.  A real Iron chef in the making. In the past couple of days he has mastered the art of karate, and has become the avid chocolate waffle eater. On the mornings that Jarrod or I have not been ready to wake up at 6:30 am, linc has been able to get his kindle (pooter) and bring up netflix all on his own. A few mornings we have been serenaded with the intro song to the power rangers. One of our fondest memories is laying there as a family (trying to sleep) and hearing his sweet little boy voice singing the theme song " go go power rangers".  It really is the cutest thing ever.

Here are a few pictures of this last month's adventures. I hope we made some lasting memories for Lincoln. I know I will always remember them.

Special mommy and Linc date. He thinks starbucks only sells cookies and cakes.

Helping me make dumplings.

Always helping with the groceries.

I can't believe how small he was. Here he was helping me go through all his new born stuff while getting Elliot's room ready. This is one of his premie outfits.

Professional crib tester.

Spiderman

I pruned a bush in the front yard and he had to replant the clippings. They are still there today.

Here is the shield.

Got a fresh new hair cut. He asked the lady to cut it crazy. She was sweet and just spiked for him. He was trilled.

Crafting for his baby brothers room.

Just having a blast

Elliot,
You will forever change our lives, and we cannot wait!!! God has put you in our hands for a reason and we plan on cherishing you endlessly. We are going to have so much fun. I promise not to embarrass you too much.
Love,
Your crazy family.
