burst of brightness

The bond between my sweet littles is growing stronger everyday. Just the other day, I over heard Lincoln sweetly saying "I love you elliot". Being able to witness that kind of pure love makes my heart sing. It's not always smooth around here, but little burst of brightness always manages to find their way in.

I just can't get over those sweet little hand dimples...

He is getting much harder to photograph. I have to sneak up on him, dance around and make funny noises. Even with all that he is completely uninterested in what I want him to do (i'm sure this is future Elliot coming through).  Totally on the move constantly, and the minute he stops he crashes. I do love all the sweet sleep cuddles.
This month has been a big one. First off, he found the dog food and he freaking loves it... The minute he makes it into the kitchen he bee lines it for where we feed the dogs and just goes to town. He usually gets a few in before I can get to him. He's a quick little bugger. We have started to barricade the doors. It kinda works.
Next, Elliot made his debut to see his daddy coach. Minus the 116 degree heat he did just ok. He loved watching the kids playing on the field and in the stands. My sweet little people watcher..It was just too hot and we all got a little fussy. Lincoln on the other hand was amazing, he was actually into the game and not just the skittles.  It's mind blowing what one year will do to a kid. I was so proud of my boys and I know Jarrod loved having them there. Of course I did not get one picture with my beautiful husband and his babies. Maybe next time.
Finally, Like I said earlier he is moving and grooving. Not walking yet, but getting really close. He loves to stand and play with "Linc's" toys. I can see one day he will just let go, turn and walk across the room like he has been doing it all along. He is a pretty fast learner. He kinda has to be, keeping up with a big brother is hard work.

As you can see this is the only picture I got of him looking at me, and I had to stand basically on top of him. Oh this is going to be fun....

Goodness,  I'm so happy

First time camper

We did it. We made it through camping with two!! I am not going to lie to you it was tough, but there were plenty of hands to help with the littles. Linc was a champ and a old pro. I think if he had his way we would camp 365. Me on the other hand can go about 4 days then i'm ready for my shower and bed. Lincoln's favorite part of this trip was fishing and playing with the "girls".

We really had a blast. I loved watching the families get together, making wonderful memories. I love the fact that I get to be part of something big in my kids lives.  Something that they will remember. I am so thankful that everyone takes time out of their busy lives to make room for family. Maybe that's what the world needs more of. Family being Family, acting silly and just being together.

Can't wait until next year. I'm sure Elliot will be right there with the guys.

cousin weekend

Last month we had a cousin weekend. My family that lives in Oklahoma came down for a visit. So of course we made them all stop playing to pose for a picture. I had this grand idea in my mind of how it was going to turn out. Goodness me you know how things go when you plan. As you can see they were totally into it.... Oh well, this is what memories are made of. I love these kids.

half birthday

Well, we made it to the half year mark. It's pretty amazing how fast everything is going. I love this little boy more and more everyday. He is already crawling, and showing his personality. I've got the feeling that i'm not going to be able to keep up with this one. With his older brother running around he's got a good teacher. Just wait next thing he will be flying around the room in an iron man outfit fighting bad guys with linc. We are going to have so much fun. I almost can't wait.

This month we and our closest friends and family had the privilege of dedicating our sweet boy. As Quakers this is Elliot's first rite of passage. He is dedicated to God and our church with a sense of shared responsibility for helping him along in any way possible. It really brings everyone together as one with one purpose, to love God and to love Elliot.
Elliot was not the only little one being dedicated on this day. That in it's self is pretty amazing, considering the size of our tiny church.  It's marvelous that the boys got the chance to share such a spiritual moment. It is something that will bind them together for the rest of their lives. I pray they will continue to go in the light of our Lord together.

The day could not have been more perfect.
